Trust

Trust God before yourself before others

“Because true belonging only happens when we present our authentic, imperfect selves to the world, our sense of belonging can never be greater than our level of self-acceptance.”
― BrenĂ© Brown, Daring Greatly
If I don't like myself, I can't like others.  The scriptures say - "thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." and  "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding"

What does it take to trust? If I can't trust myself, believe me I can't trust you or God.  Thus I am on a journey to learn to trust.  As I learn something or notice something about trust I'll be back.

Dictionary defines it as: belief that someone or something is reliable, good, honest, effective, etc.
When you agree with someone to do something together no matter what, as they say "Come Hell or high water"/ "Thru thick and thin" / "I Promise", and you don't do it then I assure you you are not going to trust them either.  For instance when I teach I don't like the room to be on their phones even if they say they are in their scriptures - I just know it's too easy to not be.  I think it's wrong and yet I catch myself doing it!!!! Partners in dieting, budgeting, exercising, waiting for the missionary, the child who promises whatever and then doesn't do it, the parent who says tomorrow, next week, etc. etc.!!!  Then too, if the person only looks out for herself, they aren't going to look out for Me or You!

Love All Trust a Few. Do wrong to know one.  -WS
31 jan 2014 A challenge given by Ballard in the talk "write Down a Date" ensign Nov 1984 and quoted from an experience recorded in the book Everyday Missionaries by Clayton Christensen -  "...as the date approaches, you become more and more desperate. And when you become desperate, the Lord can trust you.  He knows that you'll invite anybody He puts into your path.  I labeled this phenomenon "Spencer's Principle of Desperation."

Let me know how it feels to let go and not worry because I do feel like I've been led down this road in peace and in hope

Trust. It takes years to build it. and a few seconds to destroy it!

To love is giving someone the power to destroy you but

TRUSTING them not to.

Hope, Peace Stewardship

WHERE DOES ONE TURN FOR HOPE & PEACE IN STEWARDSHIP

“Mothers have a sacred role. They are partners with God, as well as with their own husbands, first in giving birth to the Lord's spirit children and then rearing those children so they will serve the Lord and keep his commandments.

...Motherhood is a holy calling, a sacred dedication for carrying out the Lord's work, a consecration and devotion to the rearing and fostering, the nurturing of body, mind, and spirit of those who kept their first estate and who came to this earth for their second estate to learn and be tested.”
Spencer W. Kimball

In the weeee hours of the morning I had the remembrance of the annoyance I used to feel when my mother would get on her sad, martyred beat herself up soap box!  Cryin in her beer so to say about what a failure she was.  I had no empathy with or for her.

She would carry the burdens of the world on her shoulders and I thought for no reason at all.  She could not save the world, everybody in it or even her kids.  "Whatever mom" I would say to her, "they are all grown people, they decide they made the choice to live how they are ... not you - you can't do anything about that".

Well I tend to do the same thing now, so I guess I'm at least having empathy with her.  I worry about so many things that I can't control but like her mostly that I am a failure because of other peoples actions.  Which leads me to my AH HA Moment at the Weeeee hour of the Morning, I heard myself saying to her, "they are grown up people, they decide they make the coice to live how they are living".

All I can say is I did what I could when I could. I try not to be a hypocrite and I strive to teach of Christ and His teachings.  Now I pray.  For to think about it too long throws a person into deep despair - right where darkness grows darker and if dwelt upon I see more names than I can bare the burden of.  I want to have Hope and peace and not make myself crazy for “To be a righteous woman during the winding up scenes on this earth, before the second coming of our Savior, is an especially noble calling... She has been placed here to help to enrich, to protect, and to guard the home--which is society's basic and most noble institution.” ― Spencer W. Kimball

SHORT AND SWEET just a little AH HA moment!

I am grateful for "K" - Kindness

I am Grateful for "K"  Kindness

Kindness can't be still
like water it must be moveing
through trial and joy

Lie for me hide truth
Reality mistakes cover
Don't make me face it

Want to make them proud
mistakes, decisions, choices
A parent covers

Anxiety rules
Depression highs and lows
A spirit that can't be reached

Why do people lie
The darkness of betrayal
Please, Don't let me fall

Out of the dark
I alone harbor my fear
To let someone down

Work is my release
Atta girl is my reward
Heaven seems so far

Fear No trust at home
Enemy is at the door
Love thy enemy

Resist temptation
Does any of it matter
Where is my reward?

Worthy unworthy
Family, friends, addiction
Answer me, Free my soul

Like a stream I move
A river you are loud & bold
my choice is silence

Unconditional
Charity is the answer
Kindness over all.

I can't trust myself but I can Trust in God

As I read I am getting the idea that I get "attached" to people.  I don't like to think that I do really, but as I read I see that I do.  I also see that I when invested and in some way fail or don't "feel" like I succeeded - I crash and I crash hard.  It looks by the journal entries like I have done it often.  So for the past year or so I just haven't invested, well I did in one thing and failed at that too.  Do you ever feel that way?  How do we move on?  Not build up walls?  Let people in again? Forgive others? Forgive ourselves? Let go of all the weight of maybe it's not gonna fly?
Some of my paper journals talk of fighting with my mom, my husband, my kids, of inviting into our home teenagers, children, old people, of moving and thinking "this is it I'm here to stay", of this is a really good friend oh wait not!, of letting go of people because of a move, a divorce, a death, of loosing jobs, of gaining and regaining too many pounds (that one is here a lot!),   well this is an entry on May 10 1996

"Trusting my spiritual guidance. . . I can't say my prayers very well lately, intact sense we had to move this last time (and that has been 16 months ago) I haven't been able to pick myself up and go again.  I watch TV a lot, in the dark after the kids go to bed just a place of peace and quiet where I can lock out all my misery and just engage in the story before me.  I keep trying to figure out why, why can't I let go of it? If I felt like we were suppose to move and it didn't work out and we moved back, then why go at all?  Why if I felt so strongly about something being a good choice did it turn out so crappy, so darn confusing?  Everybody thinks we are idiots because we move so much and we put families out so much especially Clarks they are and were so helpful and such good friends for all they do for us.  All of us can take a look at how to be a better friend from them.  Anyway I guess I'm asking why is it so hard to pray again to pull myself out of this darkness.

Well this morning I have a new answer "I can't trust myself."  So how can I teach or tell anyone that something is right and that we should do that when choices I feel good about turn out to look to myself and others like complete failure.  Well from what I sit here and see as failure has also brought many many blessings that maybe I couldn't even see until now 16 months later.

Apryl is in a completely different group of friends (that i didn't know then and now know 15 years later is and was a wonderful blessing).  We did Temple work for family because of that trial.  I supported my husband, and he really is striving to do the Best thing, I learned that the house you live in isn't as important as the "home" you make.  I learned that it's the small and simple things that matter.  (there are lots of other blessings listed I won't bore you with them).  I'm afraid to pray again for fear of having to do something Else the Lord prompts me to do that might cause for me to grow and learn and gain wisdom but also hurt and thus the wall - I don't want to play any more - and thus the darkness.  I suppose I should let down this big tall wall get down on my knees thank God that I have been blessed with so much knowledge and so many blessings, both spiritually and temporally and get on with my life!  Stop hiding in my house, fearful of being an untrustworthy fat leader!  I do know that God lives, that Jesus Christ saved me from much pain and agony through His suffering because of that I can get on with my life and strive to be a better person, who am I to judge Him or even ask "Why me?".  Instead I choose to be more grateful and less prideful."

who are you really?

I don't think you can even ever really be who you really are.  What for the judgement of "the people", "the government", "your family", or "your religion".  I pretty much think it's why I eat too much, drink too much soda and am a hermit.  They say your personality is created by the age of 6! So...that's me, that's who I am.

Seems like I don't have alot of "paper entries" that are sharable! or should I say "blogable"!!!
In 2008 I did write on this day that we have a new Prophet - Thomas S. Monson and that it was said "that it's a new day - a new generation."  I compare it in my "paper" to the Old Testament time Moses transitioning to Joshua and today Hinckley transitioning to Monson.

"Trust is what holds an army together and trust
starts at the Top."

How important is it to really know yourself? to trust who you are?  Your leaders, government, your children, your spouse?  How do you think that people ask for help? How do we display or exude trust? Confidence?  Today I was making a book of quotes for a missionary just to let him know I was supporting him, thinking about him, trusting him to endure to the end.  I added pictures to this little book of mine, My daughter was looking it over ... I learned two things about myself today...ONE as a child I with my mother did alot of cut and paste - it was "our" craft time (thus I thought as a child I was crafty!)  I trusted her, she let me believe I was crafty because of "home made valentines" etc!!!   TWO as my daughter pointed out to me today...I am very literal and learn visually! I know that this missionary will look at my "craft" and "get that it is me" - I trust him to get it!!!

As a human race I also believe you don't keep doing something for anyone - weither it be self, parent, spouse, teacher, leader or even a Prophet if you don't Trust them; you give in, up and out!
I pray to be one that others trust and to Trust Myself with others.
